DutchDeadSixDutchDeadSix The Dutch Dead Six.Concept: The Dutch Dead Six ('DD6' for short) is the Elite Force of Holland next to the regular armed forces, but DD6 serves directly under the Queen's command and according to its own initiative. Their organization is semi-secret, but they are known in some way or another. Strangely enough, the DD6 are not limited to personnel with the Dutch nationality. There are a lot of foreigners in it as well. People, who came from other armed forces, from around the globe and were recruited by the DD6. While being based in Holland itself, the DD6 personnel speak English as a first language. The only nationality DD6 does not have within its ranks are the Russians. Relations: While DD6 is only a military faction, they can engage in diplomacies of their own or on behalf of the Queen. This resulted in close ties with the Chinese, Japanese, and Koreans. DD6 often acts on the NATO's behalf inside countries where the NATO itself does not have good relations. Nevertheless, DD6 is not directly related to the NATO, as such they can refuse a call for help at any time. However, most of the times, they are happy to help. History The Dutch Dead Six were originally a resistance squad of 6, formed during The Second World War. They did what they could to give the Nazi war machine hell during the occupation. This could be anything from blowing up train tracks to sabotage and espionage. Here is a recap of event and dates. However, keep in mind that the Universe of LOTS deviates from actual history. May 10th 1940: Germany declared war against Holland and they swept across the country like an angry bull raging around, laying waste to anything they could. Holland expected this to happen, but they were not even close to fend off an attack of the force in which it came. May 15th 1940: Dutch Forces surrender. However, forces in New Zeeland did not surrender. They kept on fighting, keeping the Nazi from raiding the depots there. The surrender of the main Dutch force was because they wanted to keep the death toll small, fighting the German force head on was suicide. In addition, the surrender was under the wisdom of ‘if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em’. Some soldiers joined the Nazi party willingly, just to be on the winning side. Others joined them with the intent to stab the Nazi’s in the back when the time was right. However, secretly, the main force agreed to work with the Nazi’s, but to make it difficult for them as well. A lot of Dutch forces that joined the German army were acting like heavy stones attached to chains on the feet of German forces, misplacing fuel or ammo on purpose and at the same time smuggling info to allied forces. Meanwhile, a resistance was forming already. The misplacing of ammo and supplies came handy, because the misplaced supplies were always hidden and marked. Any other soldier would think nothing of four sticks being set together as a cone pointing up. However, the resistance knew better. Finding such an arrangement meant only one thing, jackpot; ammo, fuel, and hopefully some food as well. June 6th 1942: a group of 6 Dutch men, ranging from the age of 15 to 26 were one of the best resistance fighters and saboteurs. They were apply named The Dutch Dead Six, Also called DD6 for short. The group consisted of 6 men total, Frank Koops, aged 25. Frank was good at negotiation and interrogations. Nick Zwaan, aged 20. Nick was the bomb expert, also a weapons engineer in his own right. Frits Fries, aged 23. Frits was a born team leader, also a pretty good all-rounder. Robert Haverkamp, Age 23. A wizard with Sniper rifles. Finally, the youngest brothers of the team; Henk Dutch, aged 17 and Wim Dutch, aged 15 . Henk and Wim's parents were originally American. Sadly, German forces have killed their parents while they were protecting their children. Therefore, Frank took them in and took care of them. When the time the Resistance group was formed came Wim and Henk, despite their age, joined in. At first, their foster parent would not allow that. However, Wim and Henk were smart, smart enough to realize that the Germans would not give a damn about their age, if they were allied with the resistance, then they would get the same bullet as everybody else. Wim and Henk appeared younger than they actually were, a bit of acting younger supported their appearance as well. Besides, who would suspect a 13-year-old kid to be a spy for the resistance? Sticking close to Germans for so long, slowly but surely, Wim and Henk learned perfect German on their own. They often eavesdropped on conversations, pretending to just be playing around; it was easy cover for getting the latest on troop movements. May 19th 1943: DD6 got contacted personally by a group of British and American shot down pilots, who appeared to have heard a great deal about their efforts. As such, DD6 helped them escape to England but Henk, Wim and another one of the DD6 original members named Frank Koops, age 25, join the pilots to England. Frank was the diplomat at that time, while Henk and Wim just came along for the ride as a form of R&R, but instead they were the hit of the party in England, as they met a lot of the pilots and POW's they had helped escape without any form of reward. After Frank had talked with the British, they were taken back to Holland in a glider craft that was on its way for a covert strike in Holland. They joined the team on the strike. Getting a few British weapons; such as the Sten guns and rifles. Throughout the strike, they were at the back, wearing civil clothing, keeping their own pistols hidden. After they had done their part of recon, they reported to the British strike team and then received their weapons and left to find their fellow DD6 members. January 5th 1944: Word from the allies reaches DD6. Operation Overlord code named 'D-Day' would start at June 6th 1944 in Normandy. Requested job to DD6: sabotage, and lots of it. In addition, DD6 started to spread the word to those who they know were not loyal to the Germans. DD6 requests weapons from England for the tasks. They request Sten guns with fixed silencers. Moreover, they send plans for the silenced versions. They made their own blueprints of the Sten guns from the ones they had, and proceeded to modify the design. Fitting it with a silencer which they had designed themselves. June 6th 1944: Operation Overlord begins. DD6 made a list of who would want to shelter wounded Allied troops. Only a few were taken from the list as they were to close to one of the German hot spots. The list was transmitted to the Allied forces. While going for another raid on the Germans near the border between Holland and Belgium, two members of the DD6 became unlucky in the strike. Frank Koops and Robert Haverkamp were captured. Robert died from a gunshot wound a few hours after being captured. Frank lived through the heavy and brutal interrogation. Mostly thanks to the remaining DD6 members busting in to save their friend and also setting free all the prisoners, who helped DD6 to give the Germans hell. Together with German weapons and the silent DD6 Sten guns, the Germans were confused about who the enemy was. June 10th 1944: DD6 received their requested weapons. Armed with their new weapons and with homemade explosives they run raids in pairs of two. One team hitting some of the weakly defended spots to draw the German’s forces away from their strongly defended positions, while the second team sneaked in, sabotaging what they could, planting timed bombs left and right and escaping into the night. Their silenced weapons helped them as they did not make a sound at range so the Germans were taken down like flies. With Henk now being 19 years old and Wim being 17 years old, they were masters when it came to nature's camouflage. Using nothing but the terrain and the vegetation growth around them, they were really effective at taking down the Germans. They had three strikes from the dusk to dawn, with an average of 30 kills every strike just on their own. When the timer hit zero and the planted bombs blew, they knew it was time to clean up any German troops that might give a chase and move on to the RV. Reload on water and food, rearm and restock their gear and moving on to the next target. April 1st 1945: DD6 receives word that the Canadians will be the first to reach Holland and possibly free them from the Germans. March 20th 1945: The Canadians enter Holland with heavy fighting. DD6 assists Canadians by creating one hell of a noise by blowing up a few bunkers here and there, which they had already fitted with hidden explosives a few days earlier. These explosives were fitted with an electronic detonator designed by Heck Dutch, that worked on a looted German car battery. Just hold the wires against the battery, stand back and watch the fun. Match 22th 1945: DD6 finally meet the Canadians when the fighting died down a little. Information is passed to the Canadians. Moreover, plans on strikes that DD6 has planned. Time of strike unknown, as the DD6 will take out a target when they feel like it. Objections were made that there was no planned date or time. DD6 noted the objection but ruled it out as they pick their attack time based on the enemy's situation and the area around it. To make the attack as affective as possible, as this also decreased the chance of fatalities. May 4th 1945: Holland liberated by Canadian troops. German troops officially surrender one day later. September 10th 1945: Dutch Dead 6, being reduced to 5 members, disband. Having served their country, they retire as veterans. Henk and Wim start their own family. October 27th 1945: Indonesian separatists riot and fight Dutch and British security forces. The Dutch Queen has looked through the recorded reports of what Dead Six members have been doing throughout the war. Special notes from other military officers and trainers at the Dutch military academy stated that they would love to get their hands on training manuals. As no form of combat effectiveness can match that of the Dead Six during the Second World War. The Queen hands out a special order to seek out the former Dead Six members and invite them to the palace for some talks. October 27th 1945: Only 3 Dead Six members were found alive. The other two of the remaining five died of natural causes. A meeting with the Queen and the press was to take place on the first of November. November 1st 1945: Wim Dutch, Henk Dutch and Frank Koops visit the Queen at her palace in Den Haag (The Hague). The three former Dead Six members prove their worth as a staged attack by old Nazi loyalists begins. However, it ends with only three wounded by improvised hand to gun fighting. The staged attack halted when they started to use the guns they 'received' forms the fake attackers. News crews captured it all on film, which was the proof everyone in Holland wanted to see. It was said to be a demonstration to humor the Queen. However everyone, who heard of the DD6's doings, saw it as the ultimate proof: DD6 is for real. Plans were made to make the Dead Six as Holland's super elite commando's department, under the name 'Dutch Dead Six'. With their own training which was extremely hard and brutal, from a normal foot soldiers point of view. Because of this, only the hardest had to go through training and into the ranks of DD6. However, not only did you have to be strong and hard as nails, you also had to be smart, able to think about things in a heartbeat, be able to handle a lot of stress as doing all things at once really kicks up the pressure to the most of extreme of extremes. February 11th 1947: After a few years of planning training and testing of possible gear, The Dutch Dead 6 entered 'official' service. Even if the whole country knew of the second generation of DD6 to exist, their operations were never revealed. Only the soldiers who took part knew but they never talked. This was part of a code of honor. The less anyone else knew, the better your chances were. This was one of the reasons why Frank Koops and Robert Haverkamp were captured in the first place back in 1944. Too many people knew, which started rumors, which were picked up by the Germans, that led to a trap being set. 1959 - 1975 The Vietnam Wars; even if Holland did not join the war, the newly formed DD6 did join the fight under the cover of being mercenaries. Being paid for their actions by the other forces for their work served as a nice bit of pocket money. The real reason for being there was to be called the ultimate test or the Ultimate trails. Fifty of the best DD6 members went there. Together with Henk and Wim Dutch, who were the official leaders of DD6. The Dutch family were declared as the official leaders. Of the 50 members of DD6, only 10 died. Those that died had fought hard but did not have what it takes to survive. Henk and Wim Dutch joined the fights and as expected, surviving was a breeze for them. However, do not think of them as the normal commanders who sit behind their desk handing out orders, these two commanders operated as real merc's taking a commanding position on a job. Being the first one in the field and the last one to leave it. The 40 DD6 members that survived had proved themselves throughout this period, and were granted the medal of Trust named "Holland’s Dead Cross". It was the ultimate Medal to receive within DD6, wearing it is the mark of veterancy. Moreover, it marks that you where a true DD6 in the spirit that the DD6 fought with in World War 2. This was no normal medal. This one would be handed to you in the Queen's palace. Together with Henk and Wim Dutch to carry the medals and the Queen herself to pin it on your shirt. This was the greatest honor any pure born Dutch person could receive. And till this day, anyone wearing the Holland Dead Cross gets instant respect and credit from every Dutch person, no matter if they're military or not. June 20th 1980: The grandson of Wim Dutch was born. The daughter of Wim Dutch was a one off in fighting ability, honor and loyalty from her father. As such, her son Thomas carried this loyalty in his blood, one could say. Sadly, his Father was not so loyal to his mother and left her with an newly born child. June 25th 1981: Alex Dutch is born. The father of Thomas has an 'accident' and made another woman pregnant of Thomas' half brother Alex. The woman was a DD6 officer as well. However, as DD6 members never share information about family, she never knew that she was made pregnant by the father of Thomas. Sadly, Alex's mother died shortly after birth, and a maid at the Dutch family's estate took up foster care, as the father of Alex left right after birth. Leadership: DD6 is headed by the Dutch Family. (Not to be mistaken with the Royal Family or the nationality, as Henk and Wim's Parents were originally Americans. Hence, the last name Dutch.) As such, only blood relatives or a spouse of a blood relative can lead DD6. That was the cardinal rule the Queen imposed at the time of DD6's commission. As for the next candidate that will lead DD6; Thomas, Wim Dutch's grandson is being trained hard to be the perfect soldier, and to be a perfect leader. Training: DD6 often gets its members from other armed forces. However, they also have their own fresh recruits. Those that cannot keep up with the pace would be sent to the regular army, those that could continue their training. A true DD6 trooper was cross-trained. Vehicle operation of any kind, Gunnery, Piloting, Demolitions, Engineer, Sniper proficiency, Covert Ops and the list goes on. However, a trooper would still specialized in one field in which they have natural talent. |
